An Introduction to Working with Psychedelic Medications with Jocelyn Rose, co-author of Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy

An Introduction to Working with Psychedelic Medications with Jocelyn Rose, co-author of Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy

Description

Psychedelic-assisted approaches are attracting ever-growing interest and research into the effectiveness of psychedelic medications is expanding rapidly. As EMDR therapists, we are uniquely placed to engage with this emerging field — and to do so thoughtfully, ethically, and with clinical rigour.

This full-day online workshop offers an introductory, evidence-informed understanding of how psychedelic medications intersect with EMDR therapy. We'll explore the clinical applications, therapeutic considerations, and ethical responsibilities that arise when clients are using psychedelic medications alongside or in adjunct to EMDR — and what this means for how we conceptualise and plan treatment using the eight-phase model.

This workshop will explore implications for the AIP model, case conceptualisation, treatment planning, and the integration of the eight-phase protocol within psychedelic-informed practice.

You will leave with:

· A clear understanding of the current evidence base and clinical landscape

· Practical knowledge of the benefits, risks, contraindications, and ethical considerations

· Frameworks for working with clients who are using psychedelic medications alongside EMDR therapy

· Culturally attuned approaches for diverse and marginalised client groups

The workshop is suitable for EMDR therapists who have completed the EMDR standard training.
